"A Word" With Matt McChesney from The Autumn Offering

The Autumn Offering is a Metalcore band from Daytona Beach, Florida.

So far they have released 3 full length albums and their latest effort features Matt Mcchesney (Ex Hell Within) the band's new frontman.

They shared the stage with the likes of Slayer, Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, Mastodon, God Forbid, and Mushroomhead to name a few.

"Fear Will Cast No Shadow" the band's latest release was produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium, All That Remains, Mutiny Within, Chimaira, Sanctity, RoadRunner United) who also played a solo on the song "Dystopiate" which also featured a solo from Ralph Santolla (Obituary, Deicide).

I got the chance to catch up with Matt and ask him about the band's upcoming album, where would he like to perform, whats he currently listening to and more.
Heres how it went:

TMR: Hows everything going lately with you guys ?

Matt: Great the tour has been amazing. Killer crowds and alot of sold out shows.

TMR: Alot of people compare you to All That Remains, are you guys influenced by them ?

Matt: No.Weve been out as long as ATR. Great band though and really nice guys.

TMR: You guys got a push from Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed, do you ever think of working on a song with him ?

Matt: No plans for that, but it would be alot of fun. Jamey has a great voice.

TMR: When can we expect a new album ?

Matt: We are hitting the studio in Feb, so i would say by the summer for sure.

TMR: Do you plan on releasing a DVD ?

Matt: No plans yet, but you never know!

TMR: Which bands are you currently listening to ?

Matt: I can only speak for myself. Not alot of metal. Sigur Ros, Radiohead, The Cure, some Meshuggah for a change.

TMR: If you where stranded on a island with nothing on you and you found a bag, whats 3 things you would hope be in it ?

Matt: A razorblade, a gun, and some Cyanide

TMR: What's one place you would like to perform at ?

Matt: Dubai. I heard its amazing there.

TMR: Who's your favorite band to tour with ?

Matt: Probably Mushroomhead, they are so nice and give us special treatment.We never have to ask for anything.

TMR: Would you like to add anything ?

Matt: Thanks for the interview, sorry my answers are short but I'm on my Sidekick and it takes forever!!
