VOICE OF THE SOUL is currently writing for their debut full length album, make sure to like the band on Facebook to stay updated.

Melodic Death Metal band Voice of The Soul issued the following update concerning their recent line-up changes and their upcoming full length album:

"Hello all!

It's been less than a month into 2012 and we have been incredibly busy thus far.

First of all, we would like to announce Rana Rassouli's departure from the band. It has been a year of great experience with her, and we would like to wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

That being said, we would also like to officially introduce and welcome Khalid Temimi into the band behind the drumkit. Khalid Temimi is of Iraqi origin who was brought up in Abu Dhabi. We've played gigs with his old band, Shotgun Enema in the past. Not only is he a beast behind the kit but he's one funny guy too!

We kicked off the year at The Silent Era Gig in Dubai on January 6th! We had a great time performing with Khalid for the first time and our session bassist, Vishal Bala, who pitched in for Ahmed Al Zubaidi, who was in the UK. We had the pleasure to play right before headlining act, Perversion - who are one of the most recognizable bands from the Middle East, as well as share the stage with Black13Angelz, a Kuwait-based metalcore act who we have known for years.

We uploaded a couple of videos to our Youtube channel on youtube.com/votsband - one is of the events happening before the gig, and one is a 15 minute compilation of our set!

Silent Era Pre-Gig Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AvFyOM8kwI
Voice of the Soul Silent Era Live Set Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWXt50IDwvM

Full-length:
We have started writing for our first full-length. There is no decision made about when it will be recorded or released just yet...we are focusing primarily on playing shows with new bands in new places and spreading the VotS sickness everywhere.

T-shirts:
Fans who are interested in t-shirts can email votsband@gmail.com for more details regarding shipping, prices...etc

Final note

Thank you for supporting the band and keeping up with all the crazy things that go on during the year. We hope to play someplace near you!

Once again, Into Oblivion EP can be purchased or downloaded on voiceofthesoul.bandcamp.com

Happy (belated?) new year!

[By: iRoar]

Founded in 2007 in Kuwait, and now spread out across the world. Voice of The Soul is one of the middle east's hardest working bands. The young foursome has already released 3 EPs with "Into Oblivion" being their latest opus. And continue to gain more and more supporters around the world for their highly active and professional work ethics.

While the members of Voice of The Soul live in different countries for University; the band manages to stay connected via online meetings to swap ideas for new songs. When the time nears for recording; the band heads back to Kuwait to record at Sarj's Studio (one of the region's premier destinations for quality rock and metal recordings. Responsible for some of the best releases from the metal scene in Kuwait such as; Benevolent's "Divided," Depth's "Memento Mori" and Black Well's "The Human Condition".)

I got a chance to catch-up with founder/frontman Kareem Chehayeb to talk about the band's latest release "Into Oblivion," his favorite bands from the middle eastern metal scene, which international acts would he like to open for, and more.
Here's how it went:

First of all I'd like to thank you for this opportunity. Voice of The Soul has been hard at work after releasing it's latest EP Into Oblivion. How is everything with the band lately?

The pleasure is mine. Thanks for providing the opportunity! Things with the band are going well. We've been struggling with organizing shows this winter…the lack of shows in the region and the fact we're all under 21 are two factors which kick us in the nuts on a daily basis. Otherwise, we've been working on our official website, more merchandise (including CDs of Into Oblivion EP), and our cover contest. All these things will be sorted out soon, and we're very excited…hopefully the supporters are too!

Into Oblivion was released last month via Bandcamp. The reaction has been extremely positive from fans and critics alike since it's release. Are you personally happy with the end result? Do you feel you've achieved what you originally set out to do with the release?

Yeah, definitely. Though some have said otherwise, I think this is a huge step up from Eyes of Deceit and Winds of Apprehension. I think this was definitely a more confident effort, and the amount of time and effort put on each song compared to before was second to none. It's heavy, it's melodic, and it really puts out the message. At the same time, I think it also has a unique twist to it. So yeah, I think we're all very happy with it.

What does Into Oblivion center around? Does the EP have a recurring subject, or is it a culmination of lyrics over the course of writing for the EP?

Monish and I are the people who usually write the lyrics (though everyone contributes here and there). I feel like we have a reoccurring theme on society and people. I'm not surprised, though (laughs). I think each song has a different story behind it, but they all portray the same message: people are fucked up and are fucking each other up. The greed, apathy, ignorance, and arrogance of typical society today is astonishing…Of course, some songs are more personal than others too. We sometimes write about these things based on our personal encounters and experiences, but also based on things that we read about or see with others.

Into Oblivion features a killer cover of At The Gates' "Under A Serpent Sun." Being a more straight forward melodic death metal band. What other veteran bands influence you?

When we started writing originals, we had this obsession with Dark Tranquillity. Monish and I couldn't stop listening to them. It was worse than how most little kids are with Justin Bieber. We also really enjoyed Arch Enemy, old In Flames, King Diamond, Kalmah (holy shit did we love Kalmah and still do). We really liked Opeth as well. Blackwater Park still blows me away! Finally, though not considered a "melodic death metal" band, Death's latter few albums have some beautiful melodies in there too which inspired us big time.

Speaking of covers. The artwork for the EP looks spectacular! Which was handled by Israeli graphic designer Vincent Monsonego. How did you guys come about working on the artwork with him? And can you tell us about the concept behind the cover?

I'm friends with his wife, Alexandra, who is a vocalist for a band called Soul Torture. They're into Arch Enemy and Dimmu Borgir a lot…anyway, we talked to a few people who told us they were interested before, but they wouldn't respond on their emails or would not get anything done on time. I was talking to her one day, and she told me her husband is an artist/graphic designer, and she told him about us. He was great! He was incredibly helpful, supportive, made a front and back design, and a really cool backdrop sorta design. I couldn't be thankful for both of them!
As for the concept, Vincent had a couple of unmastered new songs with him while designing the artwork. He had a concept about the contrast between life and death, which was very similar to what we had in mind as a band. Overall, it's the struggle between living and fighting to be free or dying to be free elsewhere. It sounds pretty twisted, come to think of it (laughs).

More and more international acts are being confirmed for performances in cities like Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Cairo, such as; Metallica (at Yas Arena in Abu Dhabi in October) and Megadeth (at The Mutt Rock Festival in Dubai in December). If given the chance which band would you like to see Voice of The Soul support on a big international festival or event?

It's incredible how many metal bands are coming this year…though I really wish the Middle Eastern fans gave more attention and time to their own bands. There are way too many bands to list for that though (laughs). I can't speak for all the members, because we all have different favorite bands…I think it would be a dream come true to open up for Dark Tranquillity. We don't have the exact same sound, but they're legends! If anyone asks me what I used to do between the ages of 16-17, I'd simply say "listening to Dark Tranquillity". Since Carcass have reunited for some gigs, I'd love to play with them too. They're some of the most underrated and honest musicians in the metal industry. I guess it's a tie between the two. There are other bands I would mention, but the legacies both of these bands left behind in metal music are almost unbeatable!

If you were to organize a headlining tour for Voice of The Soul, which Middle Eastern bands would you like to take on the road with you? What are some of your favorite Middle Eastern bands?

We've been fortunate enough to gig with some great bands in the Middle East, including Midway, Osprey, We Left As Skeletons, Billy Bob's Blood Drenched Brew, Apeira, and Obselion. I'd want to bring about 20 bands with us though (laughs). In all seriousness, if we had a headlining tour, I'd like to drag a bunch of Kuwait-based bands, particularly Black Well, Benevolent, and Depth. They deserve so much more exposure than they get…

I've been a Nervecell fan-boy for almost 4 years now. More than their sound and achievement, I like their humility. I really like a lot of the stuff that many of the bands from Kuwait come with. It's a small community there, and we all know each other and share the same issues. I've known the guys from Depth for ages now…probably 5 years now. I've gotten to know the guys from Benevolent and Black Well for the past few years, and we're all close. It's really nice when bands come together and support each other. There is too much silly and bitter rivalry…moreover, I love Kaoteon as well. I also should mention another Lebanese band called Monarchy. I saw them at one of the Heats for Global Battle of the Bands, and they blew me away. They sound a lot like Myrath actually! Keep an eye on them. From the UAE, I've been keeping an eye on Perversion and Coat of Arms a lot. There is so much talent in the region, I have to stop here (laughs).

The Middle Eastern metal scene has been seeing a boom in terms of big events and promising acts emerging. With the help of the internet, Facebook and sites like Bandcamp and Soundcloud, it's been easier for bands to get their names out their. What is your advice for a start-up band to help them gain some exposure?

Never stop dreaming, but be reasonable and logical. Don't expect Terrorizer Magazine or whatever to respond and give you a full-blown interview right beside one by Watain! Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Reverbnation, Bandcamp: all these things are essential. It seems redundant in some cases, but you have to have as many branches as possible. Also, this is slightly cynical, but don't be afraid of approaching people. Most people aren't going to make the effort to find out what's going on with the band unless it comes to them (Hint hint, fans). Just don't overdo it…you'll piss people off otherwise. Also, use proper spelling and grammar. I think it looks more professional rather than having a tweet that goes "hai errbody, we have a gig 2night! ;)"

Thanks a lot for doing this. It's always a pleasure to chat with you. Would you like to add anything?

Thank you Metality!

Genre: Melodic Death Metal

Label: Self-released

Released: August, 2011

Reviewer: Karim Tarek

Voice Of The Soul is a Kuwait-based, young, multicultural Melodic Death Metal quartet that arose back in 2007 as a cover band. Years passed by, and today the members are drastically separated, living on various spots on earth for college, while originating from four different countries from the first place.

The band is made up of Kareem Chehayeb (Guitars/Vocals), Monish Shringi (Guitars), Ahmed Al-Zubaidi (Bass Guitar), and the freshman member, Rana Rassouli (Drums).

They released their debut EP, entitled “Winds Of Apprehension” in 2009, followed up by its peer, “Eyes Of Deceit” in 2010, and then, eventually, this year’s masterwork, “Into Oblivion.” They would have released their debut full-length this year if it wasn’t for their complicated circumstances, mainly living away from each other, but I, myself, think that releasing an EP instead and waiting up for the full-length and giving it good time is a smart decision given their remarkable progression and maturation through each of their releases.

“Into Oblivion” starts off with a brilliant classical piano/guitar solo opening, giving way to one of the grooviest tracks on the album, “Immolation,” which demonstrates Kareem’s vocal versatility, with him using different kinds of vocal styles that perfectly fit the groove. It would appear to you from the very first listen that the band has become more consistent and more determined on delivering sheer Melodic Death Metal tunes rather than having multiple styles, and that they discontinued the experimentation that was clearly present on “Eyes Of Deceit,” although the latter didn’t actually affect the “ordinary” Voice Of The Soul sound.

I really admired all the guitar work on “
Into Oblivion;” riffs came groovy and consistent and sounded like a veteran, mid-aged Melodic Death Metal band, which should make you surprised to know that the average age of Voice Of The Soul’s members is 19 or 20! Solos came very well-picked and never overplayed; most of them sounded optimum and well-fitted, although I wish some of them were a little longer. Rest of the instrumentation was nothing out of the average, maintaining the very consistent sound throughout the whole album and giving way to the vintage guitar work to surface and emerge.

Overall, Voice Of The Soul is a young Melodic Death Metal band that is supposed to earn your everlasting support as the simplest way of paying them off for their sincere devotion and steadfastness towards their music, and although the four of them live away from each other most of the time and meet up only on a couple of occasions every year, they released three EPs in three years, which is indicative of the band’s productivity and ability to create. You know we could all name a dozen of bands of which the members live in the same country, yet not having Voice Of The Soul’s serious enthusiasm, willfulness, and eagerness towards their music. They’re one of the most endeavoring and hard-working bands in the Middle East, and I expect them to end up being something “big” in a short period of time.

Highlights: Cast Away In Betrayal, Immolation.

During the interview Kareem covers a number of subjects, such as: being in a international band with members in different locations (Boston, London, Dubai, and Mumbai), the current middle eastern metal scene, the band's influences, working with Nocturna's Sarj Masood on the epic track "The Light That Never Shone." Kareem also discuses the differences and progression between the band's first EP "Winds of Apprehension" and their most recent EP "Eyes of Deceit," as well as the band's song writing process, future material, among many other topics.

VOICE OF THE SOUL have been heavily active lately; starting off the new year with their upcoming headlining performance at Annihilation Gig (5), alongside some of Dubai's most prominent up and comers. The band also recently won Rockability Magazine's "Metal Track of 2010" for the song "Farewell To Hope," taken from their latest EP "Eyes of Deceit" (available for streaming here.)

[Ed note: "Farewell To Hope" was also featured on our compilation album "Metality - The Compilation" available here.]

We got a chance to interview the band and ask them about performing in Dubai for the first time; whether they have any surprises in store for Annihilation Gig, and about the killer line up on the bill. We also talk about the band's most recent release "Eyes of Deceit" and if work has commenced on it's follow up. The band also gives us their tips on ways for newer acts to promote themselves.

Here's how it went:

iRoar: First of all, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to do this. As I know that Voice of The Soul is currently busy preparing for the upcoming Annihilation Gig (5). Are you guys excited about performing in Dubai for the first time?

Kareem: Thanks for having us! Yeah, we definitely are. It’s our first gig in years, and our first gig out of Kuwait. I always would go to Dubai to see Desert Rock Fest, so it’s cool to be able to go but to play instead of just watch. I have to admit; it did take me a while to get over the fact that Ahmed won’t be making it (big frown).

Ahmed: I'm really excited about the band performing in Dubai, except unfortunately I won't be able to make the show due to my university timetabling here in the UK. But the greatest thing about this gig is the exposure. Hopefully, it will lead to many more gigs not only in the region, but worldwide.

Monish: When I first heard about a possible show in Dubai, it was really something to look forward to. We're a Middle Eastern metal band, so there's no better place to start things off than Dubai. Hopefully we have a couple of more gigs in store for us in the near future.

Rana: YESSSSSS! Way excited, I'm sure there’ll be a few "surprises" here and there, seeing as all the members of the band have different experiences, and especially because I'm a new addition…but I’m sure it'll go smoothly as planned! It’s unfortunate we don’t have a full lineup, but you’ll hopefully get a real feel of the full VotS lineup over the summer!

iRoar: What can fans expect for the show? Will there be any surprises in store for vintage death metal enthusiasts?

Kareem: I like to think we’ll put on a show with lots of energy, and hopefully the crowd will be just as excited to see us. Yeah, I think if you know your bands from the early to mid 90’s you’ll definitely be in for a small surprise.

Rana: The fans should expect the unexpected; we're all whacky metal-heads and love to express ourselves in every way possible. The only thing I believe that we all have the intention of doing is pulling off the best show possible and for everyone to have a good time.

Monish: We’ll try to put on the best show possible. I think all fans can enjoy our music, and the least we could do is put on a great show for them. We always want to keep things interesting.

iRoar:
Annihilation Gig includes a diverse line up of bands. Do you think that having a variety of acts perform on the same bill, helps attract a wider audience?

Kareem: Definitely. As a whole, the region’s scene isn’t that great, apart from a very few exceptions. There is no time to show support to local acts based on their genre/sub-genre. We all have to be there for each other. Yeah, it will be nice to see an audience who listen to all sorts of bands. Underneath it all, metal is metal in the end.

Ahmed: Yeah, I think so. The more exposure, the better really...

Monish: I think its great to have a diverse lineup. Bands want to show their potential and having different varieties can certainly generate a positive feel along with a vast sound to the audience.

Rana: Absolutely. Metal isn't very big here in the UAE in terms of big bands and exposure, more or less, especially since the only metal 'festival' has been cancelled, it's slowly beginning to seal itself away again. The only way of trying to regenerate some sort of life into it would probably be through the support of other genres and bands/artists which are willing to help the underground scene thrive for some more exposure and gradually develop into something much greater than what it is.

iRoar:
Back in July 2010, Voice of The Soul released its second EP, "Eyes of Deceit." Looking back at the effort. Are you happy with the end result?

Kareem: I am quite content with it. It was very experimental but still melodic and heavy. It opened the doors for more ideas, and I think we did a lot better than I initially expected, especially considering the setbacks and (unfortunately) mistakes I made that year in terms of band management.

Ahmed: I am. Listening through it, you can tell how experimental an effort it was. The greatest thing we learnt from the EP is what sound we really felt most comfortable with and what formula we want to pursue to create a signature sound that will hopefully make Voice of the Soul instantly recognizable.

Monish: Certainly. I'm really pleased with the entire process. All the efforts we put in have paid off. It was mixed brilliantly. Writing and recording this EP really taught us a lot, especially as we grow as musicians.

iRoar:
With the recent addition of drummer Rana Rassouli to the fold. Has work already commenced on the follow up to "Eyes of Deceit"?

Rana: As I mentioned before, as a new addition to the band, I am honored to be part of the band seeing the amazing efforts and outcome the guys had achieved before I had taken part. We plan on developing their outstanding achievements to the next level, as a whole band. Hopefully, the result will get better and better.

Kareem: I’m quite excited to have our very own Gina Hoglina/Kaia Hahto. We haven’t had a drummer since our last gig that was embarrassingly a few years ago. We all listen to different bands, so a new mind definitely gives great ideas. We’re already working on some new songs.

Ahmed: Yeah, work doesn't really stop for musicians. Especially with all of us in school, we have to make time for music and studying which means we need more time to get a product out.

Monish: It's definitely uplifting to have a drummer in the band. As well as preparing for Annihilation 5, we’ve been working on some new material, as Kareem said, for a full-length album.

Rana: Whether I had joined the band or not, I wouldn't really refer to it as work, as Ahmed said, but the fun never really stops for musicians!

iRoar:
As members of Voice of The Soul are located in different locations (U.S., Kuwait, UAE, and India). Does the internet and online video conferencing aid in keeping the steamroller going?

Ahmed: Definitely. You'll find we're pretty much online everyday sorting things out.

Kareem: The internet has its fair amount of blessings. We all send countless Guitar Pro, video, and audio files to one another with our new areas on almost a daily basis. I’m very thankful for that, and for the fact that we’re all very dedicated.

Monish: All of us are constantly in touch with each other and are updated regularly. I also think living in different regions also helps us come with different ideas. I think it overall works for the better.

Rana: The internet is basically the steamroller for everything if you want to put it that way; the amount of exposure and publicity you can get through it is just phenomenal. Even though it’s not the 'traditional method' of withholding a responsibility of a band, it could be better than anything else, despite the fact that we're all busy with work/college/school, we're able to fit it into our schedules perfectly and work around it.

iRoar:
The Middle Eastern metal scene is growing by the day with diverse bands from around the region. What do you think are great ways for newer bands to promote their music?

Ahmed: Well, ideally the best way to promote is gigging. If you are fortunate enough to be able to gig in your country, any musician should really jump on the opportunity.

Kareem: Take every gig that you can get. Unfortunately, there are not that many clubs that will give you gigs, apart from a select few in Lebanon and a couple of other places. Nobody wants to gig in front of a group of 10 dudes that know nothing but Master of Puppets, but a gig is a gig, especially if it’s a legal one. Another thing is to be active on the internet, especially Facebook/Youtube, and to take advantage of the scene as a regional and not a national thing. Countries in the Middle East are way too small.

Rana: I definitely mentioned this earlier on - The Mighty Internet.

Monish: Again, the internet has been key for Middle Eastern bands to promote themselves to greater audiences. Sites such as Facebook and Myspace have been catalysts to the process bands in the region have gone through in the past. It's a great way for lots of bands out there who want to make a name for themselves.

iRoar:
Once again, I'd like to thank you for taking the time for this quick interview, and wish you the best of luck at Annihilation Gig 5. Would you like to add anything?

Kareem: Thank you, Metality for all your support! I really hope to see you guys at Annihilation 5! I’ll be chilling with everyone, while watching the other bands play, so I hope to meet some of you!

Monish: Thanks a lot. I want to call out all our fans in support and make Annihilation Gig 5 a memorable one!

Rana: Thank you very much, I just hope everyone that attends the gig we've organized enjoys it to the fullest.

Spiritcrusher got a chance to ask Mr. Dolan a number of questions about his latest project Primevil, and their future plans. Tony also shares a couple of funny tour stories, and gives his 2 cents on some of our favorite bands from the Middle East, among many other topics.

Here's how it went:

Spiritcrusher: Hi Tony, how are you doing? Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Tony: That is my pleasure. I am doing well..been a tough year but all is on track now. Priming for 2011 and beyond now.

Spiritcrusher: First of all, what inspired the formation of Primevil? Venom fans will know that Prime Evil is the first album with your involvement. How would you describe the sound of Primeevil as opposed to the sound of Venom?

Tony: Well I think it came about as Mantas and Antton who were both doing separate music projects (Dryll and Def Con One) came together in Dryll. Mantas needed a drummer and Antton offered his services, people kept wondering what it would be like if Mantas and Antton played with me and it was kind of "oh yeah that would be fun, perhaps" but then Dryll played a show and performed the Venom track Black Metal and that was kind of it. People started saying I had to come in and play too. See what happened, so I got a phone call and had a few chats with Mantas and that was that; we decided we’d see if it worked. It does, very well but then again myself and Mantas have always been friends and played well together. The addition of a drummer as good as Antton was something too cool to pass up! The name we decided should be chosen by the fans who wanted this to happen. The first Venom album I did was Prime Evil in 1989 and that was the name the fans chose for this band. PrimEvil is old school I guess, melodic, heavy, powerful, different from Venom? Not sure. We will inevitably be compared as we are all ex-Venom and of course Mantas was the main songwriter for Venom so... But I feel we are more like classic Metal. Motorhead, Black Sabbath....Priest and Venom.

Spiritcrusher: You guys have a few tracks up on your Myspace account, and they sound excellent! Can we expect an EP or an album coming up in 2011?

Tony: Thanx, yeah (we have) a few trax around. 8th Gate, the follow up to Venom’s 7th gate, Hellspawn, a song dedicated to our fans, Hell To The Holy, the title track for the new/debut album and Wake Up Dead. The idea is to release a vinyl through Iron Pegasus around Feb 2011, featuring 6trax..4 covers of songs that influenced us to do what we do and 2 new PrimEvil trax. In march we will release the full album, Hell To The Holy, through an as yet undisclosed label.

Spiritcrusher: What have you been doing in your free time that is not music related? Do you pursue any other hobbies?

Tony: I don’t get much time for hobbies apart from training with weights and fighting. As I also run the stage at the Dominion Theatre in London on the Queen Musical, We Will Rock You and that takes up lots of my time. I also do some acting still on the side when I can. I watch TV when I can and listen to music as much as possible.

Spiritcrusher: On a less serious note, do you miss your long hair?

Tony: Erm.....lol....No....!!YESSSSSSSSSS...No!..hahaha. Actually I can’t freaking remember it..been about..22yrs or something now!

Spiritcrusher: Do you have any pre-gig traditions/rituals that help you get psyched?

Tony: Not really. I do like some peace and quiet, to just think and get psyched. I like some weights and to get aggressive, as I wanna deliver the songs with the correct vile and spit!!

Spiritcrusher: Who was/were your favorite band/bands to tour with throughout your brilliant career thus far?

Tony: To play alongside, ah.. Exodus. Slayer were great to open for in ’85 here in London. We played the bill in ’88 with Destruction and Testament, that was great! Nuclear Assault were great fun. Atrophy were a great bunch of guys and real cool sound. Onslaught...UFO, Girlschool...can’t think, lots more....King Diamond, Savatage, Candlemass..Nasty Savage, Exumer...Agent Steel..all cool bands....I was very lucky to be sharing audiences with these bands I think.

Spiritcrusher: Is there a place you would like perform in one day that you haven't played in before?

Tony: The Middle East. Australia...New Zealand..Japan...China, all of Asia...South America...all over Europe...India...Africa. Turkey....everywhere I guess....lol!

Spiritcrusher: Speaking of tours, can we expect any national or regional tours by Primevil?

Tony: Yes from March 2011 the plan is to begin touring and not stop until we have been everywhere we want to play.

Spiritcrusher: Can you tell us a few embarrassing moments of your touring experiences?

Tony: Erm, maybe not..hahahaha...well..once in Germany I had to run across a road very drunk to escape the Police with my trousers around my ankles...lol...dunno why, drunk!!!

I did a show once after eating 3 meals and played the whole show resting against my cabs with my pants undone. I got thirsty and reached over to drink from a can of coke on top of my cabs, only to find out that someone had been putting their cigarettes out in the can all day..."Mmmm..nice!" Other than that I was a very good boy (NOT!) hahahahaha, can’t say any more than that.

Spiritcrusher: Here on Metality.net, our goal is to bridge the gap between the Middle Eastern metal scene and the the rest of the world (especially Europe and North America). We thought it would be neat to show you three bands from the Middle East and have you say a word or two about them.

Tony: Having bands from Egypt is amazing and the Emirates, Kuwait, equally so. The fact that metal is everywhere is something people don’t sometimes get. I so wish we could come play, these bands have great potential. In India there is a real difficult struggle for the metal fans and to be accepted by everyone in India. I hope the barriers of religion can allow and not restrict the freedom of music. It makes us breath and free’s us and is vital to young people, especially Rock/Metal/Punk. As it is the scream we all share whilst growing, long may these bands live and may they enjoy the success they deserve!

Spiritcrusher: Tony Dolan, the floor is yours! Any final words for Metality, Metality readers, and the Middle Eastern metal scene?

Tony: Hand in hand we rule the world. There is no difference between ourselves and our talent and our music.

Cultural views and religious heritage may differ but we all scream the same. I
hope we keep growing and the gap closing. Between the Middle east and Europe and the World. After all; makind walked out of Africa and in the Middle East founded civilization, and from there we moved to inhabit the rest of the world. Empire after Empire, country after country ruled the know world and religious thought and faith changed as we grew and changed our views etc. But what stays fundamental is mankind's basic nature. Our PrimEvil side. If in no other way we can connect and be a brotherhood through our music then so let it be! Let’s stand as One and FUCK the dissenters!! All the best for 2011 and our glorious future!
