Today's the one day in the whole year where you're reminded to love your spouse. To cherish your every moment of living together; it's a celebration of love universally. While many holidays tend to cater to a certain group of people. VD is one of the only times in the year where everyone regardless of race, religion, preferred type of cheese, can all come together and celebrate a common emotion...Love.
Off course with all that said, I'm a huge fan of being inappropriate. It's been a hobby since I used to stare down my 7th grade French teacher's blouse. That was the only year where I scored a considerably high grade in French; today, besides the common greetings you learn in every language course and how to say "My name is -penis-" I can not form a full sentence in french without being diagnosed as retarded to some degree. "omelette au fromage?"
Afterreading NO CLEAN SINGING's highly insightful and stupendously hilariousromantic advice column for Valentine's Day (if you haven't done so already, you need to "like" their facebook page....Like, now!). I felt inspired enough to sit down (I mean reach for the computer) to write a post about 10 songs that would make for a good "top ten inappropriate songs for VD" all in the name of being disturbingly funniez.
Heavy metal and art have always found themselves at crossroads, since heavy metal tends to be very expressive, it lends a hand to a darker side of creativity.
Nader Sadek last year released his debut full length album titled "In The Flesh" that's been receiving extremely positive reviews and great reception from fans. The album's conceptual theme centers around man's obsession with oil, and how we're basically enslaving ourselves to a substance originating from dead animals and vegetation.
To help bring his vision to fruition, Nader Sadek brought in an array of musicians to help him pump this steam roller of an album into full speed. The album features Steve Tucker (EX-Morbid Angel), Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy), and Rune Eriksen (aka Blasphemer of Mayhem), as well as guest spots by notable artists such as; Attila Csihar, Travis Ryan, Tony Norman, Mike Lerner, Nick McMaster, and Destructhor.
Nader Sadek is also a highly reputed visual artist. Some of his most popular and visually striking stage settings and costumes were acquired by the likes of black metal heavy weights Mayhem and drone icons Sun O))).
Since we're a middle eastern based blog, Nader Sadek ranks up high with us for his various achievements on the international metal scene. And with that we thought it would be awesome to get his personal recommendations for his top extreme metal songs.
Make sure to visit the official Nader Sadek website at:nadersadek.comfor more information on how to order a copy of "In The Flesh."
[Ed note: There was also one more song that Nader really wanted to include on the list but unfortunately it was not available anywhere online for free streaming. The song is by Internecine and is called Hallowed Guidance. You can preview the track here.]
Billy Bob's Blood Drenched Brewhave been releasing sick new slams one after the other! Earlier this month they released a rough mix of 2 pummeling new songs titled "Kill Sea Otter" and "The Old Monk's Odyssey." And then last night they released the grinding beast titled "Extra-Terrestrial Bootlegger."
One of the heaviest and most promising metal bands emerging from the UAE. Billy Bob's Blood Drenched Brewplay a progressive blend of brutal death metal that's perfectly suited for them; called "Brew Metal."
It's hard not to deeply delve into a super group, when it's members have all been associated with the the biggest names at the forefront of hard rock and heavy metal.
Black Country Communion includes in it's ranks, the "Voice of Rock," Glenn Hughes(Deep Purple/Black Sabbath), former Dream Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinan, drummer Jason Bonham (son of late Led Zeppelin skinsman John Bonham), and acclaimed blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa.
The first thing that came to mind when I started listening to The Great Divide; one of the songs included on the band's debut album "Black Country" (out now), is that if you dump out any over the top expectations, and any sort of hype in your head towards the names involved. You'll right away get lost in the soulful blues, heavy and chunk filled, raw and vintage hard rock mastery, slabbed with Glenn Hughes monstrous vocals, that sound better than ever! I've given the entire album a couple of spins, and it does not disappoint for the most part.
The Great Divide starts off with a spine wrenching riff, backed with a perfectly low tuned bass line, giving way to Glenn to introduce the listener to the song's verse. All building up to a hell of an intense chorus. With an intricate solo, the song has so much energy to give in it's 4 min: 44 second time length. I was completely sold, and had to give the entire album a listen.
"Black Country" the debut album from Black Country Communion is out now and can be purchased here.
