It's finally here! the first offering from the Adam Dutkiewicz/Jesse Leach project Times of Grace. What does it sound like? Sounds like what you would expect from a monster collaboration from modern metal's most recognized musicians.

When we interviewed Jesse back in April, he had this to say about the project with long time friend and former Killswitch Engage bandmate Adam Dutkiewicz:
“Times of Grace” is a very special project I did with my good friend Adam D from “Killswitch Enagage.” The record is a culmination of years of working with him & bringing real honest music to life. The music goes from metal to rock to shoe gaze/ambient to punk. It is a very Epic album theme wise & music wise. Adam wrote all of the music & actually sings lead on one song. We have a great chemistry & being back in the studio with him was a great experience. I think people will be surprised. I honestly couldn’t be more proud of a record. We hope to have it out world wide in the fall of this year so stay tuned!

RoadRunner are currently offering the song "Strength In Numbers" for free download for 48 hours only. (Which is a few hours away from being over, so head there now!)

The song crushes all senses, and should meet old school Killswitch fans expectations, in terms of a heavy as fuck, catchy as hell, technically driven track, with an infectious chorus.

[Press Release]

Restricted Release, in cooperation with Angle Side Side, today confirms October 12 as the North American release date for Awaken, the full-length debut from Rhode Island-based THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL. Awaken is the first metal album from vocalist Jesse David Leach since his departure from Killswitch Engage.

Recorded in 2009, Awaken was originally available for physical purchase via direct band merchandise outlets. Through the new cooperation, the album will now be accessible via proper retail outlets throughout North America. “We all couldn't be more than happy that this record has gained enough attention to make it to this level of exposure,” comments Leach. “We are proud that our DIY band and our self produced/released record has the potential to reach so many more listeners. Our hope is that a great deal of people will be able to see the passion and message we carry with our music. Fight the good fight!”

Produced by guitarist Marcus De Lisle and mixed by Sean Small, Awaken has already received significant media attention. Hails & Horns Magazine calls it "a powerhouse of a record, crackling with intensity." Popular online site The PRP gave the record a 4 out of 5 rating, noting it as "a vast arsenal of aural weaponry." Terrorizer Magazine applauded the album, embracing Leach’s “jagged, broken-glass shrieks” and called it “more than a welcomed return.” The album has also generated substantial support from college and commercial specialty radio programs across the country. As part of an early radio campaign, Awaken peaked on FMQB/Friday Morning Quarterback’s metal chart at position 7 and impressed CMJ/College Music Journal stations peaking at position 20 on the tip magazine’s weekly metal chart.

Formed in 2008, THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL's eclectic sound is rooted in metal/hardcore; the band citing luminaries At The Gates, Meshuggah, and Edge of Sanity as major inspiration. The band, featuring guitarists Jake Davenport and De Lisle, bassist Nick Sollecito, drummer Jeff Pitts, and Leach, also draw heavily from their combined interests in jazz, punk, and experimental music. The band’s lyrics are fueled by political outrage; a passion that forms the backbone of the band and sets them apart from their peers.

THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL are expected to announce a series of new live shows to support the retail release of Awaken. In the meantime the band has already started writing material for their second album which they plan to release in early 2011. Sollecito notes, “our new material is definitely a step up from our previous stuff. We are really excited about it and can't wait till we hit the studio to get it all together."

Awaken’s running track listing is: 1. Awaken, 2. Lords of War, 3. Voices Forming Weapons, 4. Choir of Angels, 5. We The People, 6. These Colors Bleed, 7. Our Own, 8. The Kingdom.

A personal side note:

I really hope you guys enjoy the album and the diverse line up of bands it has to offer. All the bands on the release deserve your full support.

This project has taken about 4 month to finish, initially it was planned out as a 2 month project, but there was a good amount of surprises that kept pushing the release date, which also meant that work on the blog had to be slowed down to make ends meet, but ultimately I'm really proud of the outcome and the support it has received during the making, and really hope everyone will keep supporting the album after they listen in.

It's a free giveaway, all we want in return is for you guys to support these talented bands, visit their sites, check out more of their music, and if you think they kick ass, buy yourself a CD or a t-shirt, tell you're friends about them, post their links to you're Facebook, Twitter, Myspace or other social networking accounts, and make sure to visit Metality because that's where you'll find all their latest updates along with our coverage of all that is Metal from around the world.

A Huge THANK YOU To:

All our promotional partners for their support and for contributing to their respective scenes in the utmost professional matter.

[Press Release]
Rhode Island-based progressive metalcore outfit THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL released a free MP3 on June 21st 2010 to mark the release of their critically acclaimed debut album “Awaken,” which will be available in all UK and European stores as of June 21st 2010.

The band recorded ‘Arcarsenal’ by At The Drive-In as a treat for their fans both new and old. Bassist Nick Sollectio had the following to say regarding the track: “We had debated for months about a cover song that was appropriate for us on a whole. I suggested something by ‘At The Drive-In’ to which Jake suggested ‘Arcarsenal’ and we all agreed immediately. Taking on a song by a band as mighty as At The Drive-In is no small task, and we understand the dangers in doing so. But, I think we all love the band so much that it was hard to say no.”

A free download of ‘Arcarsenal’ can be found at www.anglesideside.com (as well as available for streaming below).

The Empire Shall Fall are the new band from former Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach and “Awaken” features such stunning tracks as “Lords Of War”, for which the band released a video for earlier this year. The video can be requested for distribution, and can be found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT9vQzaE9yQ

“Awaken” will be released through Angle Side Side Records (Distributed through Code7 Distribution).
