Hailing from Chicago Illinois, Oceano are a full throttle wrecking machine paving a path of destruction through the American Deathcore scene. Formed in 2006 the group stormed the Chicago music scene gaining a reputable following, eventually leading to their signing with Earache Records in 2007. Pilot album “Depths” was released to glowing acknowledgment among existing fans and a new hoard of deathcore fanatics soon followed suit.

Contagion, released in November last year stands to cement the group in league with ‘the big boys’ of the genre and is a drum thumpingly ferocious album. Vocalist Adam “Boss Nigga” Warren has chords of steel which never falter once throughout and drummer is a technical force to be reckoned with. Think Daniel TerchinAnnotations Of An Autopsy meets Cryptopsy and you’ve more or less got Oceano on the button. The technical prowess of the music in Contagion is apparent with twists, sweeps and blast beats that will leave you dazed and confused at times. Listening to earlier Oceano tracks in comparison to those on Contagion offers a clear indication that they seem to still have tricks up their sleeves in terms of placing a sometimes faded but nevertheless established line between themselves and their competition as it were.

This band is 'severe organized noise' and stands out from a lot of the more “barely listenable” deathcore groups about.

OCEANO have debuted their newest video for the CONTAGION track, "Weaponized." This is the band's first video from their upcoming November 9th release and it was directed by Kevin J. Custe (TESTAMENT, HATEBREED, TOMBS, JUSTIN BIEBER). [Ed note: I paused for a couple of seconds as well, when I read Bieber's name.] The video features explosive performance footage of the Chicago deathcore heavyweights acting as a counterpoint to a high tension situation that builds throughout the video.

Everyone involved in the making of the video put a lot of hard work into it. OCEANO frontman, Adam Warren recalls the shoot and is excited about how everything came together. "It was a very good shoot. It was put together quickly and efficiently. We had a very professional group
of people working with us and they really did a good job of creating a visual experience to tie in with the story and overall themes for both the song as well as the album."

The average person doesn't know what it's like to put their signature on someone else's body, but for the majority of touring acts, it's a nightly occurrence. After an encounter with a fan in a tattoo shop who asked for OCEANO vocalist Adam Warren's signature to be signed and then tattooed onto his arm, the formidable frontman began looking upon the act of signing their fans as a high honor.

"It's always an odd occurrence having someone ask you to sign a limb or other random part of their body, but after being exposed to it for a bit, I've taken it as an amazing gesture" says Adam. "To me, it says "Hey! I love your band so much that I'm down with having your shitty scribble on my body."

TheRave.com will be streaming Knoxville TN death metal band Whitechapel live in concert from The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA. Impending Doom, Miss May I, Oceano, and I Declare War are also scheduled to be part of the concert and the live webcast. The worldwide broadcast will begin at 7:30pm ET (6:30pm CT/4:30pm PT/11:30pm GMT) on Tuesday, October 19th. The concert is also scheduled to be rebroadcast at a later date to be determined.

Whitechapel is touring in support of their latest CD "A New Era Of Corruption" on Metal Blade Records. The CD was released this past summer and showcases a group who are imposingly focused and determined to write the heaviest, most intense and dynamic music possible. “We didn’t want to put out ‘This Is Exile: Part Two’, and this is definitely a real progression from that record – but, at the same time we wanted it to sound like Whitechapel,” Wade asserts. “Having played with bands like Slayer and Cannibal Corpse, you realize that one of the reasons they’ve been around so long is because they’ve created a certain sound and they’ve stuck to that. Fans want to hear their favorite band sounding like their favorite band, and while we’ll always grow, that’s something I think we’ll strive for on every record from now on.”

The stream is FREE for fans around the world to view from the comfort of their home computers. Visit http://watch.therave.com for more information on how to be a part of this exclusive event.
