This past summer, while covering the world of rock, metal and punk at the various major festivals of 2010, the crew at Bare Bones asked bands and musicians to autograph a guitar which will be auctioned off on eBay with 100% of the net proceeds going to The National Foundation for Cancer Research. The winning bidder will own a brand new black Schecter Damien 6 guitar featuring EMG-H4A pickups, rosewood fingerboard, black pearl bat inlays and black hardware. The auction will begin on Dec. 10, 2010. What's even better is the guitar is signed by a bevy of brutal bands! Also included in the auction is a printed collection of photos of all the artists while they signed the guitar. The list of artists who graciously took their time to help contribute to this very worthy cause are members of; Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, KoRn, As I Lay Dying, Sum 41, Chimaira, Murderdolls, Atreyu, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, In This Moment, Suicide Silence, Underoath, Norma Jean, Between The Buried and Me, Eyes Set To Kill, Blessthefall, Four Year Strong, Architects, Cancer Bats, Pierce The Veil, Reel Big Fish, Confide, Mayday Parade, Winds of Plague, 3 Inches of Blood, War of Ages, Flatfoot 56, We The Kings, AM Taxi, and Ice Nine Kills. We'll even string it up with a new set of strings and include a black padded gig bag. It goes without saying that this guitar is a one of a kind collectable! Vocalist Cory Brandan Putman of NORMA JEAN spoke backstage at the Rockstar Mayhem Festival with "Evil G. of BareBonesMusic.com. Cory talks about playing Mayhem, the release of their 5th album, Meridional, which dropped on July 13, and how the band is extremely excited about how fans and critics have embraced the record.

Also, this is the first time NORMA JEAN has been able to have a new release coincide with a summer tour. Cory also discusses the band playing off-dates during the tour and how happy they were to be invited to play Mayhem this year and tour plans after Mayhem wraps up.

Metal Injection
's music video show, The FiX, has posted a new edition featuring their Mayhem Fest kickoff. The hour-long episode features music videos from all the bands playing this year's Rockstar Mayhem Fest, including: Korn, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, Chimaira, Winds of Plague, Hatebreed, Norma Jean, Shadows Fall, Atreyu, In This Moment and 3 Inches of Blood.

BareBonesMusic.com recently sat down with Chris Day (guitar) and Jake Schultz (bass) from NORMA JEAN. Evil G. discusses with the guys their new album MERIDIONALS which is set to be released July 13th, explaining the notion of NORMA JEAN getting back to their roots with the new record, the ease and comfort of recording in Atlanta.

They also talk about the idea that musicians write just for themselves when in truth writing for your fans as well, why they chose on their last tour to play one of their earlier records BLESS THE MARTYR and KISS THE CHILD from beginning to end in select cities and finally how they have adjusted since leaving Solid State Records and joining Razor & Tie.
