[PRESS RELEASE]NJ progressive death metallers The Binary Code have posted two new pre-production demos, "Trees 100 Feet Underwater" and "Unexist." Both tracks can be streamed at the band's Soundcloud page.

Meanwhile, the band has announced the addition of new vocalist Marcus Silva via their Facebook page:
"We'd like to welcome Marcus Silva to the band as our new singer! We've been working with Marcus since the end of last year, and feel he's going to be a great addition to the band. In regards to our departure with Michael Apprich, the decision was mutual, as we acknowledged Mike's need to focus on his personal life. We love Mike and hope the best for him - he'll always be our friend."

Plans for a follow-up to 2010's "Priest" EP and 2009's critically acclaimed album "Suspension of Disbelief" will be announced shortly.

Vocalist Chris Barretto (ex-PERIPHERY) of Ever Forthright has recorded a cover of the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS classic "Wicked Garden" with New Jersey progressive death metallers THE BINARY CODE. The song has premiered exclusively at Noisecreep, which you can hear below:

On choosing to cover an STP song, Guitarist Jesse Zuretti states:

"Stone Temple Pilots are just as important, if not more important, than most of my metal influences when writing music. The chord vocabulary Dean DeLeo built with each album they put out blows my mind. More than any flashy, 32nd-note, legato-filled, eight-string guitar solo I've ever listened to."

The Binary Code released the Priest EP in August of this year, supported by an East Coast tour with NC-based VANISHER. In January and February they participated in the "Metal As Art" Tour with REVOCATION and HYPNO5E. They will be appearing with Shadows Fall and Thy Will Be Done on December 18th at Santo's Party House in New York City.

The track listing is as follows:
  1. Ocean of Light
  2. Priest
  3. Encircled
  4. Priest (8-bit version)

The EP is currently available for pre-order in five configurations, including a limited edition CD version that features hand-painted, hand-numbered jewel cases created by the band.

New Jersey progressive death metallers THE BINARY CODE have announced they will be releasing the 3-song "Priest EP" in May. The EP will be available exclusively at the band's May shows, a string of dates they're doing with PA-based ska metallers THE GLOOMINOUS DOOM. The Priest EP will be available on CD for free with the purchase of a t-shirt, or for creative barter; make the band an offer and they might just accept. Look for it to be available for download online following these dates.

The EP is the first new music from The Binary Code since the critically claimed (8/10 in Decibel, Revolver "Band to Watch") "Suspension of Disbelief" full-length album released digitally via MetalSucks in December of 2009. Fresh off the road from a 30-date U.S. run with REVOCATION and HYPNO5E, The Binary Code were anxious to return to the studio to record some of the new songs they'd been working on.

The band has posted a trailer on YouTube featuring clips from the Priest EP. (Available after the jump, as well as tour dates)
