Well not really. But according to the second "Making of" clip for the new MACHINE HEAD album. Rob Flynn claims that the record deals with music "as a religion" and how it's helped him through his darkest times.
It seems like Roadrunner Records recently hired some reality TV reject to produce promo clips for their bands. First it was Dream Theater and now Machine Head. It's like a boner kill. I can't really get excited about the new Machine Head record after watching a clip that I'm pretty sure dumbed me down.
Why can't they just release clips that feature killer snippets from the new record and a bunch of funny scenes in between as they rip it up on their instruments like any other band would do. Seriously, quit it with this type of stuff RR!
When All Shall Perish agreed to sit down with Metal Injection during the New York stop of the Summer Slaughter tour we knew we'd have a fun interview, but we never thought we'd get a story out of it as awesome as this. Guitarist Ben Orum told a story of meeting Malevolent Creation frontman Brett Hoffman the previous night:
I was a big Malevolent Creation fan growing up in the 90s. I got up to him, really sincenere, going "It's really nice to meet you guys" and he goes [deep voice] 'Do you have any fucking cocaine?'. I go no and then he puts his middle finger in my face and goes 'Then, fuck you!'
But that wasn't even the best part of it. When Orum started gushing about how he was a big fan of Hoffman, the Malevolent Creation frontman sounded off on All Shall Perish and bands like them:
I started elaborating. I know you're band…I'm a fan of your band. He goes 'Fuck your band. Fuck all these new bands. You fucking nigger bands!' and I couldn't believe it. I had to walk away.
What a swell guy! You can watch the full interview to hear the band talk about meeting Danzig, their new members and potential new music from the band. Also, hit up our Summer Slaughter channel for live footage of the band from this year as well as all the other bands on the tour.
Extreme metal heavyweights ALL SHALL PERISH have announced their new official line up for their upcoming tour dates with Summer Slaughter Tour 2010.
One of the main surprises behind the new line up is the departure of original member drummer Matt Kuykendall, being replaced by Sea of Treachery's Adam Pierce.
The band posted the following statement on theirofficial Myspace:
"So we're long due for an update on the currently happenings of All Shall Perish. Firstly, we're pleased to announce that Adam Pierce (Sea of Treachery) has come onboard as our new drummer. Yes, this means that one of our original members, Matt Kuykendall, is no longer in the band. It's always tough to part ways with a longtime member and friend, but it was absolutely necessary in order to maintain forward progress. Also, as many of you may already know, our most recent lead guitarist, Jason Richardson, has left ASP and joined Born of Osiris.
That being said, we'd like you all to welcome Francesco Artusato, originally hailing from Treviso, Italy, as our new touring guitarist for the foreseeable future. This is the lineup you'll see throughout this year and hopefully well beyond. We feel great about these new additions and are confident that the ASP fans will make them feel welcome! There will be new photos and more updates coming soon. Come see us on Summer Slaughter and hang out!"
