[PRESS RELEASE]
DEVIN TOWNSEND took over the progressive metal movement last year. With the release of 'Addicted' and subsequent touring across the globe, the former STRAPPING YOUNG LAD frontman has never had a higher profile - a point proven by the numerous sell-out performances on his most recent European tour. This continues to be the case in 2011, as DEVIN TOWNSEND gears up to release not one, but two brand new albums on June 20th via InsideOut Music. 'Deconstruction' and 'Ghost' are the final two chapters in Hevy Devy's four-album concept series (along with 'Ki' and 'Addicted') and are sure to be two of the most talked about albums of the year!

Not only will TOWNSEND release two new albums, but he is also excited to announce that he will serve as direct support to Children of Bodom on their upcoming tour through North America. Additional support on the trek will come from Septicflesh and Obscura, who will alternate the opening slot each night. Presented by REVOLVER Magazine and Guitar World, the tour will be DEVIN TOWNSEND's first to promote the new albums and sees him joining forces with one of metal's most respected acts, Children of Bodom, on their first North American tour since 2009.

Another new song from the upcoming CHILDREN OF BODOM album "Reckless Relentless Forever" titled "Cry of The Nihilist" is now floating around the youtubes and the interwebs. The song apparently premiered on radio a couple of days ago. And so far it's the one I like best from what I heard off the record. It's got that vintage Alexi guitar wankery, and a crazy "all yell" chorus. This one's definitely for fans of their older work.

Finnish modern metal veterans CHILDREN OF BODOM, posted a new video for the song "Was It Worth It," which you can stream below. The band is also hosting the premiere of a new track, "Ugly," available for streaming over on their official Facebook page.

Both songs are taken from the band's upcoming album "Reckless Relentless Forever," out March 8th via Spinefarm Records. For more information visit the album's official homepage.

Last month, Finnish metal heavyweights Children of Bodom posted a teaser clip for their latest single "Was It Worth It." Taken from the band's upcoming album "Reckless Relentless Forever" out March 8th via Spinefarm Records.

A radio rip quality of the full version of the song surfaced online, which can be streamed below.

Judging by the muffled quality of the rip, the song is basically a rehash of the title track from their previous album
Blooddrunk (with an arena chorus). 0:15 seconds into the song, the opening riff to "Was It Worth It" is basically the same "Lamb of God riff" used 25 seconds into the title track from their previous album "Blooddrunk." Which makes the band sound a tad mediocre.

I still don't want to judge the album by one song. But until I hear some more material from "Reckless Relentless Forever." I'll be listening to the ripping new track from UK's fine thrashmen, Sylosis.
So we get to finally hear the first sample from Children of Bodom's upcoming 7th studio album "Relentless Reckless Forever" out March 8th via Spinefarm Records in the form of a teaser.

The band posted a video trailer for their upcoming single "Was It Worth It" that features "two-time X Games gold medalist and two-time Thrasher Magazine "Skater of the Year" Chris Cole as well as noted pro skaters Jamie Thomas and Tom Asta (the current #1 Amateur skateboarder in the world). Filmed on location at central Pennsylvania's residential Action Sports compound Camp Woodward and directed by Dale Resteghini for Raging Nation Films (Pink Floyd, Santana, Mötley Crüe), the video was shot guerrilla style, sans treatment."

I'm not going to start ranting like an elitist douche over less than 36 seconds of new material, but I will say this. If the new album sounds like a Blooddrunk reject, I'm gonna bust some f'in Finnish asses!

[Ed note: The writer of this post does not tend to actually throwdown with the Bodom guys (if the new album turns out to be "meh") nor does he believe he can take on such veteran warriors. As a matter of fact, this writer thinks Alexi is a sexy beast with pretty long hair, and Henkka could be one of the nicest guys in the entire metal'dom; please send us free merch ♥]

Finnish extreme metal icons CHILDREN OF BODOM, have revealed the title for the band's upcoming 7th studio album, titled "Relentless Reckless Forever" scheduled for a March 8th release via Universal Music.

The album was recorded at Petrax Studios with acclaimed rock producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Monster Magnet, Staind). According the official press release:

"COB's unique union of haunting melodies, rhythmic sensibility, guitar-and-keyboard interplay and king-size solos is supercharged to the maximum on "Relentless Reckless Forever", and the resulting record is poised to push the band
..to an altogether new pinnacle"

I'm seriously looking forward to this record, and while Blooddrunk felt rushed in and a little cramped up; and even though Alexi does mention that the band's first single off the album for the song "Was It Worth It?," is "a total party song","It's not your typical Bodom sound, but it's one of my favorites and heavy as hell." The band has been on the DL for enough time, to come back with a "punch in the gut" good record.

[PRESS RELEASE]

CHILDREN OF BODOM (also COB), the hard partying Finnish Heavy Metal band that features frontman and modern day guitar hero Alexi Laiho will release its new album Relentless Reckless Forever on March 8, 2011 via Universal Music. Recorded in Finland's Petrax Studios with famed rock producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Monster Magnet), Relentless Reckless Forever is the seventh studio album of COB's illustrious career and the first new record from the band since 2008's Blooddrunk, which debuted at #22 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart and scored the quintet its third consecutive #1 debut in Finland.

"We worked super hard on this album, at least for me it was pretty much no sleep or rest for six weeks," stated Laiho. "But we were determined to make the best COB album ever, so we were willing to do whatever it took. Of course, having our producer Matt Hyde kicking our asses 24/7 definitely made the results even better, so obviously we're more than anxious to get this album out there"

Relentless Reckless Forever summons and synthesizes everything CHILDREN OF BODOM has earned and worked towards over the course of its successful, storied career. The band's high-energy hooks and electric energy forge stadium-sized heavy metal anthems that seethe with both marvelous musicianship and a phenomenal pop prowess. COB's unique union of haunting melodies, rhythmic sensibility, guitar-and-keyboard interplay and king-size solos is supercharged to the maximum on Relentless Reckless Forever, and the resulting record is poised to push the band - already on the brink of breakout success in the U.S. - to an altogether new pinnacle.

The first single and video from CHILDREN OF BODOM's Relentless Reckless Forever is the red-blooded new song "Was it Worth It?". COB recently shot a high energy music video for "Was it Worth It?", joining forces with two-time X Games gold medalist and two-time Thrasher Magazine "Skater of the Year" Chris Cole as well as noted pro skaters Jamie Thomas and Tom Asta (the current #1 Amateur skateboarder in the world). Filmed on location at central Pennsylvania's residential Action Sports compound Camp Woodward and directed by Dale Resteghini for Raging Nation Films (Pink Floyd, Santana, Mötley Crüe), the video was shot guerrilla style, sans treatment; honing in directly on CHILDREN OF BODOM's high-spirited fire and the skaters' eye-opening execution.

"The single 'Was It Worth It?' is a total party song", said Laiho. "It's not your typical Bodom sound, but it's one of my favorites and heavy as hell."

Finnish extreme metal veterans Children of Bodom are currently recording their as yet untitled 7th studio album at Petrax Studios in Hollola, Finland. The album is scheduled for an early 2011 release.
