[PRESS RELEASE]
Massachusetts molten metal troupe UNEARTH are excited to unveil a new iTunes app! Created by Rebel Monster Inc., the app will keep fans up to date on everything UNEARTH including news, tour info, bios, new merch and more! Additionally, push notifications from the band will let you know what's going on before anyone else! Check out the free app at THIS LOCATION.

Commented frontman Trevor Phipps:
"We wanted to design a free app for our fans that is useful and informative. The one that our friends at Rebel Monster put together gives you breaking news, tour dates, sound clips from all of our albums, full streaming songs in our 'radio' icon, photos, webstore access, Twitter and Facebook feeds, YouTube channel, bio info and more! We didn't want to half ass it and put out a useless app. This one is everything you need from UNEARTH besides seeing the band live! It's simple to use and it is FREE, so why not check it out?"

UNEARTH will kick off their co-headlining trek with Chimaira next month. The band will be touring in support of their fifth full-length, Darkness in the Light, released this past summer via Metal Blade Records.

Metalcore titans UNEARTH return with their 5th studio offering, titled "Darkness In The Light" a culmination of all UNEARTH's vintage hardcore/extreme metal hybrid.

Over the band's career, UNEARTH released some of the best Metalcore offerings (2004's The Oncoming Storm is still one of my all time favorite records in the genre) and with their latest release "Darkness In The Light" the band takes their signature sound into tighter territory.

For the recording of "Darkness In The Light" the band worked with Killswitch Engage drummer Justin Foley; due to former drummer Derek Kurswell parting ways with the band prior to working on the new album. Darkness In The Light was also produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who certainly leaves his apparent mark on the record. 'Shadows In The Light' feels like a tighter, heavier Killswitch hit. While 'Ruination of The Lost' sounds like a Trivium/Lamb of God hybrid, injected into an UNEARTH song.

The first single to be released to the public from "Darkness In The Light" was 'Eyes of Black' one of the record's heaviest songs. Opening with a almost At The Gates-like lead, the song breaks all barriers between metal and hardcore, proving that Unearth are worthy of their throne as one of Metalcore's biggest pit starters.

'Last Wish' and 'Arise The War Cry' are full on modern neck breakers. Filled with massive grooves courtesy of the mammoth guitar duo of Buz McGrath and Ken Susi.

'Equinox' feels like a bridge leading into more 'Oncoming Storm' territory. Bringing forth the UNEARTH beast of the early days with 'Coming of The Dark.' I can see fans screaming at the top of their lungs along with song's monstrous chorus, leaving everyone in the venue light headed. While closing track 'Disillusion' is the record's definite final knockout.

All in all; UNEARTH managed to once again put together a solid record. If any band today can write a fresh record in a genre over-saturated with hordes of manipulators. It'll be Massachusetts' Metalcore leaders UNEARTH.

Last night, one of my favorite if not favorite metalcore brain drillers. UNEARTH! Posted a new song from their upcoming album "Darkness in The Light."

I've been seriously dying for a new record from these fine gentlemen for a very long time. Been bugging their camp about it for a while now, and it's finally on the way!

Out mid to late June 2011.

UNEARTH will also be working with veteran producer Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, TRIVIUM, and many more) at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA (U.S.A.) for the new effort.

The band posted the following message on their Myspace page concerning the news:
"We wanted to let everyone know that tracking for the new album has officially begun! We're currently at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA tracking drums with our sit in drummer for the album Justin Foley of Killswitch Engage/Blood Has Been Shed. Foley was an obvious choice for this album for many reasons, but mainly because of his abilities and knowledge of heavy music as well as his long time friendship with the band. A decade plus of friendship has made this an easy transition for the band, Foley and our producer/engineer Adam D..

In other news, we have decided to change the mixing engineer for the album to Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, White Chapel, Devil Driver, Trivium, etc...) from Audiohammer Studios. Mark is another long time friend of the band and we're excited to hear what he can do with our sound on record.

Guitarist Buz McGrath added this irrelevant comment about working with Mark, "Mark Lewis mixed me a drink once and i woke up in a swamp covered in anti freeze."

As we said before, we're aiming at a mid to late June release for the album followed by massive World touring."
