JorZine recently conducted a interview with Nergal from blackened death metal titans Behemoth. In the interview Nergal talks about the band's latest release Evangelion (which has been getting awesome reviews), being part of Rockstar Mayhem Fest, the band's sound, and alot more kick assness!

With the summer comes alot of metal, here's some of the latest interviews and reviews from the middle east's leading heavy metal webzine, JorZine.com:

Interview with UAE Private Government Producer Miltiadis Kyvernitis

JZ: A big part of what makes Rock different is that it’s a collaborative work, and how most of the successful bands write music together!! This isn’t really the case here. My question is, why didn’t you simply form a band, got to know them better musically, then started writing music instead of the currently status of the band?

Miltiadis: I've only ever been in two bands that never worked out at all. Lack of dedication from the others inclined me to just work on music myself and my way. The boys (and girl) featured on the album featuring in the album are all old friends of mine who I've worked with before and therefore know what their musical tastes are. I've worked with Basel for years, as well as with Joe. Michael from Sandwash and Kiran Sequeira (producer of Nervecell's "Preaching Venom') are old friends and I went to school with Serge Lutfi (Abhorred - when we met, Abhorred has just formed). Interview with Swedish Viking Metal Band AMON AMARTH

JZ: :How active is Amon Amarth with Joms Vikings? As we have noticed them on Wrath of the Norsemen DVD as well as the video clips being shot with them.

AMON AMARTH: We plan to have them on some shows in the future. Now we have done two videos with them so I think on the next video we will try something completly different.

Interview with Egyptian blackened death metal band CRESCENT

JZ: A lot of old bands simply gave up on Metal in Egypt, what kept you as active as you are? And do you think that there will come a day when you simply lose hope and stop?

Crescent: Its a pretty complicated issue as our circumstances/culture and society is different, It needs effort to keep up a band especially when you hit the 30's and especially that you wouldn't gain a penny from music that you play. So its the other way around, You pay for the music you play without any return and its something beautiful but still unrealistic. There are also other priorities and having another job and other responsibilities would certainly affect the future of the bands

Latest Show Reviews:

There has been a ton of stuff going on over on the JorZine camp, with alot of new interviews and reviews, so without further to do, here's the latest updates from JorZine.com:

Interview with Omani Black Metal Band ARABIA

JZ: But why Black Metal, why did you chose it to express your thoughts and not any other genre of music?

Arabia: Because we grew up listening to it, it’s what we love and what we listen to, just because we disagree with a lot of black metal bands because we’re Muslims, doesn’t mean that we can’t use the music to spread our own thoughts, and because it fits in well, not like dance music or hip hop for example. Interview with Ashmedi Frontman of MELECHESH

JZ: The band was formed back in 1993 in Jerusalem and 7 years later immigrated to the Netherlands. What could you tell us about the move? And do you consider yourselves to be a Middle Eastern or a Dutch band? And just to clear things up, where are you all originally from? Because as you may already know thereÕs a lot of rumors and controversy about this issue

Ashmedi: The band started in Jerusalem in 93 and also operated from Bethlehem as my other guitarist is from there. We got known here and became the first black metal band ever from Jerusalem, first metal band from Bethlehem and eventually first signed band from Jerusalem, a lot of firsts, eventually we became the first signed non Israeli band from the Middle East ever.

Why the move!! well for many reasons, I personally love Jerusalem but was not comfortable with what was happening there, I wanted to leave, I was heading to the states till my bass player at the time who had a business in Holland convinced me to move there, I thought why not its only a 4 hour flight anyways from my home town.

Interview with Egyptian One Man Project KONZAROSS

JZ: Explain Konzaross to us, what is it? The lyrics? The style?

Khaled: Konzaross is a one man project consisting of only bass and vocals, I would say it’s psychedelic, melodic, and dark, as far as I know this is a genre created by me and I don’t know of anyone else who plays this genre of music, the lyrics and music are about the mysteries of life, it’s a state of mind music and not music you can listen to anytime. And unlike a lot of projects who are playing styles that sound like each other, Konzaross is different and rare. Konzaross is a dark mysterious history Castle in the Dark Age. Interview with Iranian Progressive / Thrash metal Band AHOORA

JZ: Interesting Lineup, living in the Middle East myself, I’ve heard hundreds of stories about bands not being able to play and facing all sorts of tribulations, what’s your story? What can you tell us about the metal and music scene in Iran?

Ahoora: I guess you know about it all. We’ve had two illegal albums, few devastated gigs and a performed one. And we’ve failed to gain permission to work. There is no scene here in Iran and I guess that’s it for every Middle Eastern band, a little better or worse; also a lot depends on the quality of the musicians too.

Interview With Egyptian Industrial Death Metal Band WORM

JZ: How about you share with us a brief bio of the band and the genre you’d say you play?

Worm: We're a death metal band at heart but happen to add various influences, mainly from the industrial sector. So the label "Industrial Death Metal" seems in place.

Our style isn't really comparable to any specific bands. A few moments on our first demo reminded listeners a bit of –old- Hypocrisy (Penetralia and Osculum Obscenum) although we weren't listening to those records at the time or never really considered them an influence in Worm, it just happened. The newer material is much darker than what we did on The Armageddon Codex and definitely colder and I dare say with more variation, as we're not afraid to experiment anymore.

Interview with Egyptian Screamo/Hardcore Metal Band YOUR PRINCE HARMING

JZ: Many would argue that your music is purely noise, or a waste of time, what would you say to that, and how did you start getting into this kind of music in the first place?

YPH: Music is never a waste of time, if you can relate to it, and if it can help you in your life then it certainly doesn’t waste your time and it certainly isn’t noise, just because its loud/different to what other people listen to doesn’t mean its just noise, I think that is very ignorant of people to think that, you can find beauty in any type of music. We got interested in this music because its what we can express ourselves the best through. It’s also what naturally comes into our minds when we try to compose something.

Alot of Metal has been going on over at JorZine.com. So without further to do, here's the latest update from Jordan's leading Heavy Metal webzine.

Interview with Diablo Swing Orchestra D.S.O

In the interview the band talks about their brand of Swing/Rock music, their influences, their
upcoming studio effort and alot more.

Here's an excerpt:

JZ: You personally, as musicians and music fans, what are your influences in and out of the metal genre of music? And is there any kind of music you all listen to, aside from metal and swing music of course?

DSO: Our musical tastes within the band are quite diverse. But it has to have a nice vibe to it and none of us is into any music that is too gloomy and pessimistic, we like it when the message is either really aggressive or positive =). Click Here To Read The Full Interview.

Interview With Jordanian Dark Oriental Metal band BILOCATE

Bilocate just recently announced that they are to be featured on Terrorizer's upcoming (unsigned bands) compilation album "Fear Candy" for their March issue (Cannibal Corpse on the cover, issue #181) the song featured will be "The Dead Sea".

JorZine conducted an interview with the band, about their latest distribution deals, plans for any upcoming shows, their album "Sudden Death Syndrome" and alot more.

Here's an excerpt:

JZ: When do you guys plan on releasing new material?

Rami Haikal: The first thing we are going to do now is to re-record our first album Dysphoria for it is a powerful album that has a lot of great ideas, but it didn’t get its chance because of many factors, one of them was our financial situation back in 2005, so the album hasn't got what it deserves as Sudden Death Syndrome has in terms of production & mixing, but now as we are preparing it to be released in mid 2009 it will be outdressed more carefully for somehow we had time to look back at Dysphoria and find ways to merge a new vision into the same tones, from what we've done so far and the expected outcome you can be assured that you'd be waiting for something much more than lets say "worthy"… yet later on by mid 2010 a 3rd album will be out hopefully as the writing process for the that album has started already… eventually, we are trying to make sure not to waste one second away from music & business… the next couple of years will have many new surprises from BILOCATE, stay tuned! Redeemers (Feat. Silent Echo) - Halloween Show(31/10/2008)

The 31st of October was a very good day for metal in Egypt, 2 concerts were taking place, “Metal Accord” and “Redeemer’s Halloween Night”, so finally after we got to the location of Metal Accord we found out that it was canceled due to management reasons, so we did the obvious and went to Redeemers’ Concert. Which would be the first concert I’d go to in Egypt, obviously I was a little worried about this. However, all of my feelings of uncertainty were blown away the minute the concert began.
