Some Metal News
Its been a while since I reported some news, so i decided to post this in between the upcoming interviews (The Autumn Offering, Warmen, Deterrence and more)
First of all a while back Dino Cazares and his new band Divine Heresy had some controversy going on, when their Frontman Tommy Cummings literally decided to quit the band live on stage, and then pushed Dino to fall and roll over like the Humpty Dump Man.
But it wasn't over then, back in July on the "Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Tour", A one sided fist fight between the two, when Dino and his wife where shaking goodbyes with the people at the VIP lounge, in Dino's story he was jumped.
now Dino is a legend for being one of the Metal scenes more controversial musicians, he was kicked out of Fear Factory to say the least... Supposedly the band split up for a while and then reunited just not with him anymore.
HeadbangersBlog caught up with both men a while ago and got their thoughts on the law suite they are filing against each other. When I read what Dino had to say, I was convinced by two things that he had to be, and there wont be a third, A mature responsible Husband who knew he couldn't fight Tom, so he hired people to back him up (does he sound like a victim ?)
or he was the reason this all happened in the first place .
Here's a quote from what Dino had to say about the incident:
"We feared that Tommy was going to react that way again, so we asked the sheriff if he would walk us to our car. So he did and Tommy was shouting out, “Yeah, motherf—er, you have to hire security.” He was taunting me and talking s—. Tommy’s well aware that I hire security because I fear him. Look, I really don’t hate the guy. He got fired from Divine Heresy. I don’t hate him. But I do fear that he will react that way again. A lot of people thought I was dumb and I was overacting by hiring security to protect me from him, and now they know I’m right. And now things will have to happen legally. We have pictures of all the injuries and medical records and we’re waiting to get the incident report back. I sustained a bruise to the side of my head. My ear’s all swollen. Jennifer’s got a black eye and bruises up and down her body."
This isn't the first time someone had issues with Dino ... Fear Factory had minor issues with Dino as well back in the day.

"he just walked into the rehearsal room one day and said, "Hey I don't wanna play with you anymore, I quit," and I'm like, "OK." After that the band pretty much broke up, a few months later they decided to bring it back without me."
This isn't the first time someone acts out with Dino ...

Here's a little quote from what Tom had to say about Dino:
"At this point, this is just shameful and embarrassing and it’s sad that two grown men had to lower themselves to this level. I just want to be through with Dino. I don’t ever want to have anything to do with him again. He’s called and threatened the Snot shows to [Snot guitarist] Mikey Doling and other members of my new band. And, basically, he told me he was going to make sure I would never work in this town again a long time ago and he’s making good on his attempt to preclude my existence. It’s just really a shame. They’re trying to make me out to look like a monster and they want me to be hurt. I know he does. He told me so, and it’s sad."
I wont place bets on who's right and who's wrong, but from Dino's illustrious past I would have to say like the chunk of hair he lost in the fight, he had a big part to do with it .

Now Neal Travis has joined Divine Heresy as their new vocalist and together they released the video for their 2007 title track "Bleed The Fifth", lets just see how it goes with Neal....

On with our lives, Progressive Death Metal band DAATH have finally released a new track with the band's new frontman Sean Z. (is it just me or is their alot of frontmen issues nowadays ?) the new song is called "Sharpen The Blade" and was released just a few days ago on the band's myspace.

Now to talk about something thats alot lighter,
The first single from the 13 + years anticipated album "Chinese Democracy" from American rock band Guns N' Roses has finally been released a couple of days ago, the single is the album's title track.
Best Buy will be exclusively selling the album, which will hit stores November 23rd.
Oh yea and if your wondering what ever happened to the poor blogger that was sued for leaking 9 tracks from the album online...well he got out of it
So far, everything sounds good and legit, it seems like Dr pepper will have to go through with their promise to America.

Bleeding Through's video for Death Anxiety is now online, the video comes from their latest release "Declaration" which will be reviewed here very soon, but until the review comes out, set your soul on fire along with the guys from Bleeding Through.
