Khalilson's First Post : From The Shallows - Beyond The Unknown ( Reviewed ! )

Khalilson took some time out of getting ready for his upcoming gig with Amulet at the upcoming Metal Accord Halloween event, to start off his posting journey by reviewing "Beyond The Unknown" by Ohio's deathcore act From The Shallows.

I'll leave you with Khalilson's review,

From The Shallows - Beyond The Unknown
Release Date: May 8, 2007

You know straight off this album is going to be killer from the intro track, a nice slow build up intro followed by a killer riff and some seriously shocking drum work they end the intro track with an ordinary breakdown. The intro really caught my attention to check out the rest of the release.

Battle axe (2nd Track) is almost like any deathcore track wasn’t very impressive and the drumming was kind of too loud, the 1st time I listened to it I jumped to the next track but later I discovered that the good shit is at the end of the track they are really experimenting with different styles of drumming in break downs and the guitar work is unfucking believable.

Lets get to the main point , "Under A Killing Moonlight A Fire Is Awakening" now this track is seriously one of my favorite death core tracks of all time, 1st time I listened to it I was like seriously shocked this shit can tear your roof apart. Psychotic Drumming Unbelievable Riffage and some Brutal ass Vocals and if your a deathcore fan it has the, I seriously don’t know what to say, the Fucking Wickedest Most Brutal Break Down In History! They end the track with a nice smooth acoustic melody. This track is seriously what’s going to give these guys their reputation.

The Chalice Of Mankind (5th Track) is Sludgy as fuck. It gives u straight up Heavy fast Sludgy Riffage and blasting these guys know what there doing seriously, the solo wasn’t anything new but still quiet impressive. Ill leave the rest of the album for you to listen to so I don’t ruin it for u. This Shit Goes In "One Of The Most Brutal Releases Of 2007" and easly tops most of 2008's releases.

I’ve listened to a lot of New Age Deathcore in 2008 but these guys are taking it to a new level.

Rating 8.8/10

If your a DeathCore fan you must own this!!!!!
