Your Last Sunrise - Your Last Sunrise Review

Let me start this off by saying that Your Last Sunrise has great time signatures, the band's progressive edge, along with the heavy riffage on their debut self titled album makes them ahead of the rest for sure. The band blends high pitched growls, with Alt-Metal choruses along with pounding drums to create a very heavy yet catchy sound. While the lyrics at times could be the weak link, front man Cesar Silvia hits his notes perfectly!

Guitarists Stephen Elias and Simon “Twiggy” Gibberish work together terrifically producing very diverse guitar playing. Closing track "Awake" has a dark opening riffs, with sludge filled verses, but also has an acoustic break. The album consumes alot of colors and is layered right. Band members influences vary from Protest The Hero, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, All Shall Perish, Metallica and Zeppelin to ABBA and Scissor Sisters.

"Your Addiction" starts off heavy, leading into a very catchy chorus, backed up with some awesome bass lines. One of the band's best qualities is solid song structures, although sometimes predictable, the band manages to pull it off!

Your Last Sunrise is a very diverse band, and their blend of heavy riffing, catchy alternative choruses, and great chemistry, makes this band one to look out for.

I Give YLS a 7/10
