Voice Of The Soul - Winds Of Apprehension [EP] Review

Voice Of The Soul are a Melodic Death Metal band based in Kuwait. The band is fronted by 17 year old guitarist Kareem from Lebanon, along with bassist Monish from India. The band's EP "Winds Of Apprehension" shows off the band's strong Melodeath roots.
"Winds Of Apprehension" utilizes the classic Gothenburg sound, the glory days of the genre if you may (Dark Tranquility, old school In Flames, etc) the band does a top notch performace of executing the music. Kareem is doing a great job at handling vocals and guitars on the EP. The band also does a great cover of Death's "Emtpy Words" as a tribute to the late Chuck Schuldiner (which Kareem nails!).
Guitar work on the release, is all around very impressive, and bass is up in the mix at the right times, and flows smoothly through out the EP.
Title track "Winds Of Apprehension" has a opener reminicient of Dark Tranquility's work, with a diverese song structure.
In an overall deal, "Winds Of Apprehension" is a great EP for old school Melodeath Fans, it shows that the band is serious about making music, progression is very obvious and makes the listener grow curious as to how future material will sound.
I give "Winds Of Apprehension" a 6.9/10
Check out the band's awesome cover for Death's "Empty Words"
