"A Word" with Ernst from SHADOWCRY !

SHADOWCRY is a Modern Melodic Death Metal band from Austria, the band is currently working on releasing their new EP "Inner Circle" got the chance to catch up with Ernst Molden (Guitars) and ask him whats going lately with SHADOWCRY, about releasing a full lenght album, shooting a video and more.
Heres how it went :

Horns: Hows everything with your new Guitarist Johnny ?

Ernst: Things are running well! We are very happy that Jonny has become a part of Shadowcry. He integrated quick and turned into a real good friend for everyone of us. With his musical knowledge and skills and his personality he fits absolutely perfect!


Horns: Whats going on with SHADOWCRY lately ?

Ernst: At the moment we are working on the release of our EP “Inner Circle” which we recorded a few weeks ago in Vienna. It should be available on download-shops worldwide at the end of November! We also updated our myspace-site (myspace.com/shadowcrymusic) where you can listen to a small EP-Teaser.


Horns: Any plans for a full length album anytime soon ?

Ernst: Yes. But we think it isn’t a good idea to record a full length album without the support of an appropriate label. The point is - we want to spread our messages and music to the people out there and that means that there is a huge amount of promotion necessary. Without an appropriate label it is impossible to get this promotion.

So, I would say: We release a new EP each year until we found an appropriate label that helps us to work on a full length album. *laughs*


Horns: What influenced you to start SHADOWCRY ?

Ernst: The groupies! *haha – Just a joke!* No, we wanted to play the music we like most and grapple with topics we care about.


Horns: What bands are you currently listening to ?

Ernst: Oh, I think our listening-habits are very different. We listen to rock, metal, blues, pop and everything we like. I personally also adore the 70ies and 80ies music! J With regard to music we are very open-minded! To name a few bands and musicians we are currently listening to: Trivium, Slipknot, Heaven Shall Burn, Goteborg-Bands (In Flames, Sonic Syndicate and so on), All Ends, Foo Fighters, Volbeat, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tenacious D….. I could go on and on….. ;-)


Horns: Any plans for a video release ?

Ernst: There are plans…. but nothing concrete yet. Step by step! *hehe*
