"A Word" With Itchy Daze

The band is currently signed to Universal Music Sweden, they are working on releasing their debut album "Daze Of Our Lives"
The guys recently released a new video for the song "911" from their upcoming album, also their song "I Never Work On Mondays" is featured on the MTV reality show "Play Us"
I got the chance to catch up with the band's frontman Tomas Andersson and ask him about the band's upcoming album, who would he like to go on tour with, the Gothenburg Sound, and alot more.
Here's how it went:
TMR: First of all, hows it going ?
Tomas: Everything´s going just great actually! We released the second single, 911, October 24th and the video to that song turned out fucking awesome! You can find it on Youtube and our myspace site.
Right now we´re working our asses off to promote the album and so on. We´ve been negotiating with a japanese record label and the album will be released in Japan in May so things couldn´t be better on our part!
TMR: What can you tell us about your new album ?
Tomas: Well, first of all it´s a great album! It´s been produced by Patrik Frisk, the guy who discovered us and who also discovered Takida and produced their first two albums. He has been really great and we love working with him. He has helped us to get to a higher level both musically and as song writers as well. We are really proud to say that this is our debut album!
TMR: How did you guys get together and form Itchy Daze ?

Tomas: Oh, to make a long story short we met at this swedish midsummer party, which is a big kind of celebration here in Sweden, back in 2005. I had some songs just laying around and I had thought about starting a band for some time. Well, drunk like a MF I asked a couple of my friends if they wanted to join me and my band and they did!
We´d played together in other bands before so we all knew each other very well. It´s been some changes in the line-up throughout the years and right now we feel very satisfied with each other and the way things our going for us!
TMR: Can you describe the band's sound ?
Tomas: Our style of music is very influenced by the american sound and it´s rock/punk/pop/metal in a great mix and we think it´s gonna be appealing to many different kinds of listeners! It´s hard, melodic and energetic rockmusic at it´s best!
TMR: If you got the chance to choose a band to go on tour with, who would it be and why ?
Tomas: Oh my god! That´s a very hard question to answer! Good job! It would be hilarious
to go on tour with Metallica and see how fucked up things can get when you got too much money!
Personally I would love to tour with Foo Fighters because I think Dave Grohl is one of the greatest song writers of all time and I would really like to get to know him! I think the rest of Itchy Daze would agree with me on this point.
TMR: Which bands are you currently listening to ?
Tomas: We all listen to different styles of music so the list would be endless, but you know accept for bands that have been at it for a long time, like Metallica, Meshuggah, Slayer etc etc we listen a lot of bands like The Used, Foo Figthers, Scar Symmetry and, yeah we can go on all day. We love great music, simple as that!
TMR: When do you plan on releasing your new album ?
Tomas: It will be released 11/2 2009 through Universal Music Sweden!
TMR: Are you a fan of the "Gothenburg Sound" ?
Tomas: Hell yeah! At the Gates, In Flames and The Haunted is probably three of the best bands in the world! When At The Gates released their Slaughter of the soul album I almost shit my pants and we´ve been fans to that style of metal since then!
TMR: Thank you so much Tomas for this opportunity, would you like to add anything ?
Tomas: Yes, thank you for giving us the opportunity to tell the world about us and our music!
I would just like to say to everyone who might read this that this is just the begining. We won´t stop until we´ve toured the world and played every little rock shack there is to play! Check out our myspace site and buy the album! See ya all on tour!
I'd like to thank Tomas for taking the time to answer my questions !
